A few years ago
I bought a house with my girl friend in Olympia and we love it. I figure if I treat Olympia well, then hopefully Olympia will do the same for me, otherwise, I may end up moving to Portland… psych.
In the summers I spend most of my time working in the yard or trying to become a better shade tree mechanic. I kick it with our chickens and feed my duck LeRoy (pronounced “La Roy”). Every once in awhile my friends drag me off the “property” (all .125 acres) and we go shred the gnar waves in Westport. I devote a good chunk of my other time, playing guitar, skateboarding and helping my friends with their design projects.
Lately, I have become interested in hacking daily things and obsessed with the magazine MAKE. Letterpress, photography, Super 8,… oh yeah and Polaroid transfers, which I just learned how to do, are exciting to me right now as well.
I draw inspirations from these fine people and things:
Roussa Cassel, El Lissitzky, Jay Ryan, Rick Froberg, Alberto Burri, Old School Pizzeria, A List Apart, ’80s Toyotas, Jalisco Tortilla Factory, friends, neighbors and family.
